The fellas there have just crowned her “Sexiest Woman Alive.” The 21-year-old actress poses in come-hither garb on the cover and inside pages of the magazine’s November issue. On the cover, she wears a bra and a white Calvin Klein mini-dress; In a series of photos inside (showing her as an “enigmatic trailer-park temptress,” the magazine says), she wears cleavage-baring black lingerie paired with an open white robe, among other get-ups. Despite her worldwide fame as a sex kitten, and her multiple sex-kitten roles; Johansson says she would rather be admired for attributes other than sex appeal. “What about my brain? What about my heart? What about my kidneys and my gallbladder?” she asks. Well Scarlett, we think you should just be grateful for what’s on the outside for now!

You’d think that being a new mum for the second time round, Britney Spears would be too busy to take on more work (or resting?)… but you’d be wrong. Brits has in fact dropped the services of her longtime publicist Leslie Sloane-Zelnick and taken charge of her own PR and interviews. It all began in September, when the very pregnant Ms Spears-Federline insisted on dealing with the publicity surrounding the birth of her second child, Sutton Pierce, herself. Brits was then spotted out and about on shopping trips almost daily… Sources have told website Radar Online that Brits did successfully negotiate a deal for the exclusive rights to pics of Sutton. Despite being offered $US2m by OK! magazine, she decided to go with US publication People, who also published the first pics of her other son Sean Preston, and her wedding to Kevin Federline. Not a bad bit of business Britney – you go girl!
Marcia may be walking for three…Hot Cross Buns!
On television, she’s a desperate alcoholic widow housewife. But in real life Marcia Cross is an expectant mother, her publicist Heidi Slan confirmed on Wednesday. According to Slan, the redheaded actress – who plays Bree Van De Kamp on Desperate Housewives – expects to give birth to her first child in April. Cross, 44, and her stockbroker husband, Tom Mahoney, married in June. The two dated for more than a year and became engaged in August 2005. Cross was spotted leaving fertility clinic soon after her June wedding leading to suspicion that the two were not wasting any time trying to conceive straight after the wedding. Celebritybabies.com reports that not only was her fertiliy plan a success, Cross may even be having twins! Great news for Marcia, but how will her alter ego Bree deal with the impending birth? We’ll have to wait and see…
Onward and upward for Eva.Longoria Says No more TV shows Please!
In other Desperate Housewives news, Eva Longoria says she’s done with television after the series ends. The 31-year-old actress told The Associated Press. “I love doing both (TV and film), but I would never do another TV show.” Longoria, who plays saucy Gabrielle Solis on the TV drama, can next be seen on the big screen in How I Met My Boyfriend’s Dead Fiancee, due out in 2007. She made her mainstream movie debut opposite Michael Douglas in The Sentinel earlier this year. And it seems Housewives won’t be the only steady gig Longoria says goodbye to… Eva has apparently broken up with boyfriend Tony Parker, because their schedules are so different. Oh no, this is a sad one, lets hope they work things out!

Gorgeous brunette Kate Beckinsale insists she can’t imagine starving herself to become skinny. Kate looked stunning in a red Oscar De La Renta gown at the premiere of her new movie Click in Leicester Square in the UK last week. When reporters asked her about the pressure to diet, she said: “I don’t understand that. I would find it quite difficult to fit shepherd’s pie into that way of life.” Kate is such a down to earth gal! Co-star Adam Sandler, who plays Kate’s hubby in Click, agrees: “She’s the best, we love Kate. She taught us how to have manners and how to be a good person. She’s a great actress and a very funny girl – we had no idea she was that funny.” In any event, Kate Beckinsale looked pretty darn hot to trot while enjoying some sun with her lucky husband in the Basque town of Donostia last week, where they were attending the San Sebastián Film Festival.

Cynthia Nixon has finally spoken about leaving her partner for a woman for the first time. The actress left childhood sweetheart Danny Mozes, the father of her two children, for New York education activist Christine Marinoni in 2003, after playing a very sexual heterosexual, Miranda Hobbs, in Sex and the City for six years. Cynthia, 40, said that she had never hidden or repressed her sexual identity and explained that she simply fell in love. She told New York magazine: “I never felt like there was an unconscious part of me that woke up or that came out of the closet. “There wasn’t a struggle, there wasn’t an attempt to suppress. I met this woman, I fell in love with her, and I’m a public figure.” Nixon added she was shocked by the media reaction. She said: “My girlfriend had English press on her parents’ lawn. Every person she went to high school with got a phone call. “They almost put me on the cover of People magazine. And then it died. Because there wasn’t really anything to say.” Wow Cynthia, good point!
